(ĐN)- In 2024, the Dong Nai Customs Department recorded nearly 5,600 businesses completing customs procedures, a year-on-year increase of over 12%. This growth reflects the department’s efforts in digital transformation and implementation of smart customs systems to facilitate import-export activities.

Branches such as Nhon Trach, Thong Nhat, and Long Binh Tan saw significant increases in registrations—up by 46%, 21%, and 19% respectively.

Thanks to upgraded customs management software, export clearance times have dropped from 22 minutes to just over 4, while import clearance time has been reduced from 4 hours to 1.5 hours. Currently, 100% of businesses file declarations and pay or claim customs taxes electronically, with over 99% of state revenue collected via the 24/7 e-tax platform.

In total, Dong Nai Customs processed nearly 1.5 million import-export declarations in 2024—up 13% from 2023. Of these, import declarations reached about 550,000 (up 10%), while export declarations surpassed 920,000 (up 14%).

The department also handled all relevant administrative procedures through the National and ASEAN Single Window systems, integrating data from 13 ministries. This streamlined customs processing, enhanced transparency, and improved the business experience.

At Nhon Trach Customs Branch, which serves nearly 2,000 companies—many of them foreign-invested—electronic GPS seals are used to monitor container transport. According to Branch Head Pham Quang Quoc, this technology enhances real-time cargo tracking, helps detect violations, and supports customs supervision throughout shipment routes.

Such innovations align with the sector’s broader goal of building a modern, digital customs system. They also help Dong Nai strengthen its position as a logistics and trade hub, offering better support for import-export enterprises operating in the province.
