Dong Nai, with its strategic location and well-developed infrastructure, including industrial parks and transport systems, is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for German investors. The province’s commitment to green and sustainable economic development further enhances its appeal, especially as investment costs in Dong Nai and Vietnam remain lower than in many other countries.

Germany, a global leader in high-tech industries such as automotive, machinery, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals, presents a valuable opportunity for Dong Nai to elevate its industrial base. Currently, 12 German projects with total capital exceeding 273 million USD operate in the province, including notable firms like Ziehl-Abegg, Bosch, Schaeffler, and Bayer.

The upcoming completion of Long Thanh International Airport’s first phase in 2026 promises to boost Dong Nai’s connectivity and economic growth. Recently, over 40 German companies visited Dong Nai to explore investment opportunities, highlighting strong interest.

Despite these advantages, challenges remain. Administrative procedures in Dong Nai are still complex and slow, affecting investment approval and operational efficiency. Limitations in international payment regulations and infrastructure gaps also hinder competitiveness. Additionally, visa and work permit issuance for foreign workers need improvement.

Alexander Ziehe, chairman of the German Business Association in Vietnam, urges Dong Nai to streamline bureaucracy, simplify foreign currency regulations, and enhance incentives and infrastructure to fully realize its investment potential.

With targeted reforms, Dong Nai is poised to become a leading hub for German investment in the region.
