February CPI in Dong Nai up 1.43 percent

(ĐN)- Increases in petrol prices, and those of food, food stuff, restaurant food and public transport services during the Lunar New Year led to a rise of 1.43 percent in the province's consumer price index (CPI) in February compared to that of the previous month, according to Dong Nai Statistics Office.

In February, among the 11 commodity and service baskets, 10 reported increases, with the highest seen in transport and education. Meanwhile, prices of post and telecommunications declined by 0.31 percent.

Foodstuff posted a month-on-month expansion of 1.77 percent while those of housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials up 0.56 percent.

In the first two months of 2022, CPI climbed by 2.04 percent over the same period last year.

Three of the 11 goods categories saw slight price decreases in the period, including food and catering services, education along with postal and telecoms services.

Prices of the remainders increased, with the transport category recording the sharpest rise as a result of higher prices of fuel.
