Dong Nai attracts US$31.8 b in FDI in 11 months

(ĐN) - Dong Nai attracted more than US$1.61 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 11 months of 2019, fulfilling 161 percent of the yearly plan, according to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.

Of the figure, US$877 million was poured into 104 new projects and US$735.5 million was pledged to 105 existing projects.

Most of the projects are in supporting industry that is high-tech and environmentally friendly. Many of them came from Japan, the Republic of Korea and Singapore.

As of November-end, the province was home to 1,460 valid foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of nearly US$30 billion.

Notable projects include the US$72 million Otsuka Techno Vietnam Company Limited from a Japanese investor and the US$40 million SEA project from a Korean investor at Nhon Trach 6 IP in Nhon Trach district, the US$33 million Watakyu Vietnam Company Limited from a Japanese investor at Amata IP in Bien Hoa city,
