(ĐN) - On May 29, Dong Nai provincial Steering Committee for the Campaign “Vietnamese give priority to Vietnamese goods” held a conference to review 10 years of the implementation of the campaign.
The event was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son, Vice Chairwoman of People’s Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep, Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade Le Viet Nga and more than 200 representatives from departments, agencies and local enterprises.

Over the past ten years, the campaign received warm response from local people. The ratio of Vietnamese goods being favoured domestically has climbed rapidly year after year and has accounted the majority in many major distribution channels. Currently, 63 percent of consumers in urban and 57 percent in rural area gave priority to Vietnamese goods.
During ten years of implementation, the province organized 220 market-days to bring made-in-Vietnam goods for rural residents and workers at industrial parks across the province.

Addressing at the conference, Deputy Secretary Ho Thanh Son stressed that to maintain and promote the campaign, agencies should continue to strengthen dissemination activities while manufacturing and supply enterprises are advised to diversify product designs, increase quality and lower prices.
The large-scale campaign aims not only at inspiring patriotism and national pride but also building a consumer culture in the public and helping local businesses improve competitiveness on the local market.
On this occasion, more than 140 collectives and individuals received certificate of merits for their contributions to the campaign.
