(ĐN)- Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong presided over a meeting on February 6 to review the implementation of socio-economic tasks in January and work out the plans for February.
Deputy Secretaries Tran Van Tu and Phan Thi My Thanh, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee also attended the meeting.
Dong Nai’s industrial production index in January was estimated to fall sharply by 9.24% month-on-month due to the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, while retail and service revenues totaled more than VND12.5 trillion, up over 8 percent compared to the previous month and 17 percent year-on-year; the consumer price index rose by 0.38 percent against December last year.
During the period, the province's export turnover reached more than US$1.3 billion, an increase of 7.9 percent compared to the same period of last year, budget collection at some VND3.8 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 12 percent.
On February 6, most of enterprises in the province restart production after Tet, according to Dong Nai provincial Labor Union. More than 98 percent of workers also returned to work after the holidays.
Phu Cuong suggested more efforts to improve investment environment to attract more foreign money as well as speed up administrative reform to create favorable conditions for trade activities. The province will continue to give priorities in attracting hi-tech and environment friendly projects with high added value to reduce environmental pollution.
