Taiwanese investors pour over US$5.1 billion in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- On June 27, a delegation of Kuo Kuang Transportation Company and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCM City visited Dong Nai to seek investment opportunities in the locality.

Accordingly, Kuo Kuang would like to invest to develop local public transport system and international transit hubs. The company also expressed the wish to cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises to produce and repair public vehicles.

At the reception, Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee said that the Taiwan currently ranks second among countries and territories investing in the province, with over 280 valid projects capitalized at more than US$5.1 billion by the end of June.

Dong Nai is calling for investments in industry, transport services, tourism and hi-tech agriculture. The province will work to better mechanisms and policies to attract foreign investments in terms of both capital and advanced technology in the locality’s transport infrastructure, especially public transport.
