Accordingly, Thaco sold out more than 80,400 cars in 2015, a year-on-year increase of 90 percent occupying 38.6 per cent of Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturing Association (VAMA)’s the market share, earning VND45.8 trillion or approximately US$2 billion in revenue, an increase of 89 per cent since 2014.
The company reported profit after tax reached more than VND7 trillion in 2015, contributing more than VND13.8 trillion to State budget.
Under Thaco’s plan for 2016, the company targets total sales of over 112,000 units, up 40% against last year, with revenue of VND71.7 trillion. Of which, passenger cars are projected to rise by 47% to over 62,000 units and commercial cars by 32% to more than 50,200 units compared to last year.
