(ĐN)- Farmers in Nhon Trach district are facing a loss of crops as severe saline intrusion has occurred this year. Many hectares of crops have seen productivity decrease.
So far, the district had nearly 300ha of rice affected by saline intrusion, according to Bui Phuoc Duc, Head of Nhon Trach district's Economy Office. Hundreds of hectares of crops may be without adequate water due to the weather patterns, he added.
Currently, district is making all-out efforts to cope with the situation, encouraging locals to take the initiative in storing up water for farming and using the natural resources economically.
