In the past five years, the commune has mobilised VND15 billion for the new-style rural building programme. The money has been used to build cultural centre, upgrade traffic roads and basic construction works.
Income per capita of individuals in Song Trau is over VND42 million per year; meanwhile, poverty rate has dropped to 0.7 percent according to new standards.
Thanks to these efforts, the commune has met criteria on health care, education, electricity and clean water access.
On this occasion, the commune’s People’s Committee honored 17 collectives and 41 individuals for their excellent achievements in building new rural areas.
Earlier, Vinh Cuu district’s Phu Ly commune has been recognized as a new rural area, raising the district's number of new developed communes to eight.
