According to the regulations of Circular 34 signed by the Ministry of Construction in 2009, 3rd-grade urban area must achieve 70 to 100 points. The evaluation of 3rd- grade urban area development of Long Khanh should follow 6 criteria, including urban functions, population scale, population density, non-agriculture labor force rate, urban infrastructure facilities, and urban architecture and landscapes. Under the assessment, Long Khanh town has achieved 89.5 out of 100 points in criteria for 3rd-grade urban area recognition.
Thus, the town has met the requirements for summiting the Ministry of Construction’s approval for the recognition as 3rd-grade urban area. The recognition of Long Khanh as 3rd-grade urban area will help boost local socio-economic development.
Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh suggested Long Khanh town to check and update enough information about the town for the project to be submitted to the provincial’s People’s Council and the Ministry of Construction for approval for the recognition as 3rd-grade urban area.
The same day, the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh also worked with Bien Hoa city’s leaders to share opinions on the project in recognition of Bien Hoa city as 1st-grade urban area.
To be recognized as 1st-grade urban area, the city should meet 6 criteria for 1st-grade urban area recognition. Under the assessment, Bien Hoa has achieved 88.6 out of 100 points in criteria for 1st-grade urban area recognition.
According to Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh, Bien Hoa should add more detailed documents to the project and need to complete the project in this October to be submitted to the provincial’s Party Committee, People’s Council, government and the Ministry of Construction for approval for the recognition as 1st-grade urban area.
