(ĐN)- Phan Thi Loan’s Dong Tao chicken farm in Dong Nai province’s Cam My district is becoming a supplier to many restaurants in HCM City serving wealthy customers.
Dong Tao chicken has risen to fame in the recent years as people sought them to use for gifts and meat. This type of chicken is well-known for its awkward-looking, bulky legs. Unlike other types of chicken, the older Dong Tao chickens are, the thicker their skins, and the firmer, crispier and sweeter their meat.
Although the chicks originated from Hung Yen province’s Dong Tao commune, the current largest purebred Dong Tao chicken farm is located in Dong Nai province.
Loan’s current chicken farm is the product of years of hard work. According to the owner, her farm is presently providing around 1,000 breeding stocks each month.
She is planning to boost rare chicken breeding model in the locality because of its high economic value. Accordingly, the farm will provide breeding stocks and farming technique to farmers.
