The event was attended by Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee, Deputy Secretary Phan Thi My Thanh of the provincial Party Committee, and representatives from departments, agencies and foreign businesses associations in Dong Nai and HCM city.
Dong Nai is now home to 31 industrial zones (IZs) covering nearly 10,000 hectares, with the land occupancy rate of 67 percent. So far, the IZs have attracted more than 1,300 projects, including around 1,000 foreign projects with a total investment of nearly US$17.7 billion, and created jobs for some 470,000 laborers inside and outside the province.
Over the past years, over US$400 million was invested in building infrastructure at industrial zones in the province. Most of the IZs have concentrated wastewater treatment systems.
Addressing at the ceremony, Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai said that Dong Nai would continue to develop green industrial parks and create favorable conditions for enterprises to expand production and invest in the province.
