(ĐN)- Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee on March 18 had a working session with Cam My district’s Party Committee on the implementation of new rural construction program.
Speaking at the session, Mr. Thanh highly appreciated efforts made by the district in mobilizing all sources to participate in the construction of new-style rural areas. He also stressed that the district should focus on developing high-tech agriculture in order to raise its value of agricultural production, increase income for local farmers.
Many inter-communal roads in Cam My district have been asphalted and concreted
In the 2010-2015 period, Cam My has mobilized more than VND5.9 trillion from different financial resources to build new rural areas. It has made reasonable efforts to increase income for local farmers and improve their living condition. In particular, annual average per capita income in the locality is over VND36 million; the district has lowered the rate of poor families to 2.64%; many inter-communal roads have been asphalted and concreted; hundreds kilometers of irrigation canals have been constructed.
As a result, one commune has been recognized as a new rural area and four more expect to be granted the title in the coming time. The district aims to have additional five communes fulfill all the requirements by 2015.
