(ĐN)- On November 25, Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reported the provincial People’s Committee (PC) on developing staple crops and building trademarks for local agricultural products in 2011-2015 period.
Presently, the province has 43,575 hectares of staple crops, including 6,333 ha of pepper, 9,195 ha of coffee, 1,694 ha of durian, 16,179 ha of cashew, 9,248 ha of mango, and 971 ha of pomelo. Four cooperatives receiving the Vietnam Good Agricultural Practice (VietGAP) certificates were Binh Loc cooperative in Long Khanh town, Phu Ly and Tan Trieu cooperatives in Vinh Cuu district, and Suoi Lon in Xuan Loc district.
Vice Chairman Vo Van Chanh of PC suggested the Department and related agencies to make further efforts to support local farmers to promote products and build trademark for agricultural products.
