(ĐN)- Xuan Loc district’s fine art wood products made from tree stumps have long been known by domestic and foreign consumers because of their quality and skilful designs. These products have been exported to China, Singapore, the US and France, etc. But so far, local producers have lost export orders because of the economic crisis in the export markets.
Xuan Loc is now home to around 30 fine-art wood production facilities that are mostly concentrated in the communes of Xuan Tam and Xuan Hoa.
To preserve and develop this traditional job, local facilities have made ongoing efforts to diversify their products, look for clients by taking part in exhibition fairs organized nationwide, open products exhibition rooms and bring tourists to visit the enterprises.
Particularly, local wood products have been made of unique material with skilful designs. Enterprises have invested more in creating new products, including decorative products, to strengthen its position in the market.
Before, most of local fine art wood products have been made by hand, so the enterprises cannot fulfill big orders because of skilled workers shortage, said owner of the facility.
