(ĐN)- According to Dong Nai provincial Statistic Department, the province’s footwear export turnover in July reached more than US$167 million, up 16.4 percent over the previous month.
The increase contributed to the figure in the seven months close to US$1.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of around 12.8%.
Footwear is the biggest export commodity of Dong Nai. Republic of Korea is the province’s footwear importer with US$323, followed by the US with US$309 million, Belgium , US$98 million, and the UK , US$75 million.
According to local businesses, the increase is attributed the growth to the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) that the European Union has granted to Vietnam, along with the economic recovery in EU and the US markets.
In addition, abundant human resources and product quality also helped the country attract orders from Nike, Adidas and Puma.
