(ĐN)- Dong Nai is one of the country’s leading provinces in implementing safety breeding models. Over the past time, agricultural promotion projects have been launched to encourage breeders to apply the advanced methods to meet VietGAP standards, serving the goal of sustainable development.
According to the report from Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, eight chicken farms in the province have been certified as VietGAP (Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices) and more than 100 others issued with safety certificates.
However, in order to get these certificates, the breeders have to meet strict regulations on the quality of agricultural products; this requires them to have a big initial investment capital.
Although facing difficulties in expanding safe chicken-breeding model, the breeders still make efforts to apply VietGAP food safety standards on their products. The model is expected to help local farmers increase productivity and quality, reduce the risk of disease.
