The figure was released at the meeting on June 25 chaired by Head of Inspection Department under the provincial Party's Committee Tran Minh Thau to review the results of the Party Central Committee Resolution 5 on the collective economy after 10 years of implementation.
Co-operatives in Dong Nai are operating in various fields including agriculture and its services, trade and services, construction, etc. Of which, co-operatives engaging in people's credit funds, industrial and handicraft, and trade and services have operated the most effectively.
Speaking at the meeting, Head of Representative Board of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance recommended the co-operatives should comply with the Co-operative Law in 2012 in order to ensure the operation and achieve a higher growth rate.
Mr Tran Minh Thau said that, after 10 years implementation, Dong Nai has achieved positive results of the collective economy including the increasing number of the co-operatives, effectiveness in operating quality and higher personal income for local farmers.
He also asked the localities in the province to continue to disseminate information about the collective economic model to residents to provide them with better understanding about its roles and benefits.
In addition, the sector should focus on policies to help co-operatives in agriculture, environment, credit and housing, as well as improve the capacity of poorly trained officers in co-operatives.
