Dong Nai is Vietnam’s largest pig farming province, raising nearly 1.2 million pigs. Over recent years, pig raising in the province have faced difficulties and have not developed as planned. This has directly affected the production and business development plans of the livestock sector and Phu Son Livestock J.S Co.

However, thanks to its great efforts to apply scientific, technical solutions in animal husbandry, sourcing animal feed and ensuring epidemic prevention, the company has experienced stable development and stable revenues.

The development of Phu Son has been continuously expanding with four stations including Phu Son (Trang Bom district), Dong Phuong (Bien Hoa city) and Long Thanh pig breeding stations (Long Thanh district) and chicken breeding stations (Long Thanh district). At present, Phu Son has bred 35,000 pigs including Y, L and D breeds imported from advanced breeding countries including the US, Australia and Denmark. With a strategy aimed at high quality pig breeding, the company has always concentrated on ensuring epidemic control safety and has strictly conformed to ISO standards. In addition, the company has also produced foodstuff for pigs. Thanks to a tight and closed breeding process, pig breeding stations have proved disease resistant and have successfully weathered price fluctuations.

The company director Le Van Me said Phu Son has recently given top priority to developing high quality pig herds and had taken preventive measures against epidemics. The company had built its development strategy associated with positive breeding methods and models. It has also taken the initiative in applying scientific and technical measures to improve animal breeding efficiency. Therefore, the company has not only surmounted difficulties that are facing the sector, but also developed a prestigious product. So far, Phu Son Pork can be found in most major supermarkets in big cities in the Southern key economic zone.

Me said in the coming time, his company would strive to reach VietGap Standards so that Phu Son Pork could be exported. He added, in a bid to help the provincial livestock sector, local pig farmers have to unite in terms of using breeds, feeds, slaughtering, consumption and creation of a material region in Dong Nai province to reduce costs.
