(ĐN)- Deputy Minister of Indutry and Trade Nguyen Nam Hai on November 9 presided over a seminar on the role of industrial promotion in building new rural areas in South-western region.
The seminar was also attended by representatives from 7 provinces in the region.

In 2008-2012 period, the region’s provinces and city have spent VND310 billion for industrial promotion activities. Accordingly, more than 17,000 rural residents received free vocational training and 5,400 of them had jobs; new technologies and advanced equipments were also applied to serve for production.
At the seminar, Deputy Minister Hai noticed that the provinces and city should combine industrial promotion with other socio-economic development programs, increase funds for industrial promotion projects, boost the rural industrial development, raising the quality and efficiency of vocational training to generate jobs and increase income for rural workers.
