AkzoNobel said the new plant is one of its strategic factories to produce wood finishes and adhesives for partners in Southeast Asia, where it has been active for nearly 30 years.
The new factory will produce Nitrocellulose, Polyurethanes, Waterbone and Alkyd/Urea products, mainly for processing interior furnishing items for export. It will also produce complete coatings substances for the steel industry.
Leif Darner, AkzoNobel board member responsible for performing coatings, said his group considers Southeast Asia a high-growth market, so it will continue boosting its investment and presence in the region in years to come.
