(ĐN)- Phu Ly commune of Vinh Cuu district now has nearly 870 hectares under mango cultivation, of which, almost 800 hectares of mango trees have started bearing fruit. The average yield of mango in Phu Ly commune is about 15 tonnes per hectare. Over the past two years, many mango farmers in the commune have installed water-saving grids to irrigate their crops. Currently, the grids irrigate nearly 100 hectares of mango trees. Fields irrigated by such economical watering systems have experienced a twofold increase in productivity. Accordingly, farmers can get a profit of VND60-VND65 million per hectare per year.
