The retail price for a 12-kg cooking gas cylinder in Bien Hoa city now ranges from VND370,000 to VND385,000, depending on suppliers. Due to a hike by US$87.5 a ton to US$970 in world cooking gas prices, the domestic suppliers have to increase their retail price accordingly. This is the fifth rise in cooking gas prices this year. Prices only went down once in February by VND22,000 to 25,000 per cylinder.
Last week. prices of basic construction materials showed 3-5% increase compared to the previous week. Domestic steel prices suddenly dropped by VND200- 300 per kilo compared to the beginning of the year.
