
(ĐN)- Vietnam’s export turnover and import spending in the first quarter of the year achieved over US$41.5 billion, an increase of more than 28 percent over the same period last year, said General Directorate of Customs.

Particularly, export turnover amounted to US$19.25 billion; the export commodities of coffee, rubber, rice, seafood, textile and garments, etc saw the highest growth. Meanwhile, import spending in first three months was estimated at US$22.27 billion; petrol, apparel materials and accessories, electronic components were imported in large quantities.
The trade deficit exceeded US$3 billion in first three months, equivalent to 15.7% of the export turnover
In Dong Nai, the province’s import-export turnover reached more than US$4.6 billion in the first quarter. Particularly, the province reported an export turnover of US$2.14 billion, fulfilling 26% of the year’s plan and a 38% year-on-year rise; import value is estimated at US$2.46 billion, an increase of 19.4% compared to the same period of last year.
