Toyota Tsusho Corporation first established its presence in Dong Nai in 1995 and has ever since opened four companies in the province including Muto Vietnam, CFT Vina Copper and two new projects like J-Spiral Steel Pipe and Shinshu NT which were licensed in late 2010. Especially, Shinshu Nt Co., a meat processing and sales company, is a joint venture between Toyota Tsusho, food distributor Nichirei Fresh Inc., processed meat manufacturer Shinshu Ham Co. and Dong Nai Food Industry Corporation (Dofico). The joint firm is set to start supplying products, including ham and sausages, under the brand name Shinshu to supermarkets and restaurants starting in late February. It aims to achieve sales of ¥300 million in 2013 on the back of robust economic growth in Vietnam that has led to a rising meat industry.
President Junzo Shimizu said that Toyota Tsusho has been deeply involved in engineering and consulting on a large number of infrastructure development projects and airport projects in Asian countries. He also said that Toyota Tsusho paid special attention to the Long Thanh International Airport project in Dong Nai and hoped that his coporation and partners will have an opportunity to participate in this project and invest more in the province in the coming time.
Vice Chairman Dinh Quoc said that Japan is among Dong Nai’s largest foreign investors and he also expressed his desire to receive support from Toyota Tsusho to upgrade the province’s infrastructure. Thai also vowed that the provincial authorities would make efforts to speed up the administrative procedure reforms to better facilitate investors in order to attract more FDI, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
