(ĐN)- In January, mango prices in Dong Nai surged by VND 4,000 to VND 10,000 per kg compared with the previous month, reaching VND 40,000-VND 50,000 per kg for Hoa Loc sweet mango. With this price, local farmers can get a profit of over VND 40 million every hectare of mango after the production cost is deducted. A decline in mango output in Dong Nai and the increased demand for the fruit led to high mango price.
Dong Nai now has more than 8,000 hectares under mango cultivation, of which, over 6,000 hectares of mango trees have started bearing fruit. Mango cultivation in Dong Nai is largely concentrated in the three districts of Dinh Quan, Vinh Cuu and Xuan Loc.
