(ĐN)- In December, the pepper prices in Dong Nai reached a record high of VND100,000-VND102,000 a kilogram due to short supply, up from VND 25,000 to VND27,000 compared with the beginning of November. These prices guaranteed great profit for pepper growers, but the number of households in Dong Nai province having pepper for sale is not much. Most of pepper growers in the province have sold out their products after harvesting.
Dong Nai now has more than 7,000 hectares under pepper cultivation, with an average yield of nearly 2 tons per ha. Pepper cultivation in Dong Nai is largely concentrated in the three districts of Xuan Loc, Cam My, Tan Phu and Long Khanh town.
