(ĐN)- According to the statistics by the Dong Nai branch of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), credit growth in foreign currencies surpassed credit growth in Vietnamese dong in the first 10 months of this year. As of October 2010, credit growth of Dong Nai’s banking system rose over 17.5 percent, particularly over 36 percent in foreign currencies but merely 14 percent in domestic currency.
Director of SBV’s Dong Nai branch Tran Quoc Tuan said Dong Nai’s credit growth is targeted at 30 percent for 2010 but there is not much to worry about failing to meet the target.
Banks in Dong Nai now are stepping up their lending activities while maintaing the focus on achieving a balance in foreign currency supply and demand.
