Unhusked rice prices rise slightly

(ĐN)- Unhusked rice price has seen a slight increase on the domestic market. The prices increased by nearly VND1,000 per kilo from the beginning of this month to around VND6,000 per kilo of unhusked rice, and nearly VND7,000/kg of fragrant rice.

The prices increased by nearly VND1,000 per kilo from the beginning of this month to around VND6,000 per kilo of unhusked rice, and nearly VND7,000/kg of fragrant rice. The reasons for the increase in rice price are floods in the central region, rice diseases causing widespread damage to rice crops in Northern provinces and high export demand. At present, international markets have a huge demand of importing rice from Vietnam. The price of Vietnamese rice exports on the world market rose by 10-30 U.S dollars.

These prices guaranteed great profit for rice farmers, but the number of households in Dong Nai province having rice for sale is not much. In Dong Nai, there are now only a small number of farmers still harvesting late-summer rice.
