Vietnam is the worlds biggest cashew nut exporter

According to the report of Vinacas, Viet Nam currently has 390,000 hectares of cashew trees under harvest, an increase of 210% against 2003; the country is expected to record an cashew export revenue of more than US$1 billion this year, up 350% compared to 2003.

Cashew processing plants nationwide are providing jobs to around 150,000 workers.

Viet Nam has been the world’s biggest cashew nut exporter since 2006. Its nuts are available in 50 countries and territories. The US, EU and China are the biggest importers of Vietnam’s cashew nuts.

The Vinacas targets to export US$1.2 bil worth of cashew nuts by 2015 and US$1.5 bil by 2020, said Chairman of the Vietnam Cashew Association Nguyen Thai Hoc.
