(ĐN)- Tran Duc Thinh, Chairman of Tan Mai Paper Joint Stock Company said that Clean Technology Joint Stock Company in Ho Chi Minh City has signed a contract with Tan Mai to design, supply and install of wastewater treatment plant of the company.

Tan Mai Paper Company has taken measures to protect the environment, ensuring the safe management and disposal of solid and hazardous wastes. The company has constructed a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 9,000 cubic meters per day. The construction cost was funded by the Swedish government. At present, Tan Mai paper mill is operating at one-half (or 50 per cent) of its capacity so the effluent is reduced to 4,500 cubic meters per day. In addition, the company has implemented mitigation measures to minimize adverse environmental impacts.
The existing Tan Mai paper mill will move to Dong Nai province’s Long Thanh district by 2012 and the new one is under construction.
