(ĐN)- The coffee price in Dong Nai increased slightly after over two months of decline. The coffee price in the province presently stays between VND 24,000 and VND 25,000 a kilogram, up from VND 2,000 to VND3,000 compared to the beginning of March.

(ĐN)- The coffee price in Dong Nai increased slightly after over two months of decline. The coffee price in the province presently stays between VND 24,000 and VND 25,000 a kilogram, up from VND 2,000 to VND3,000 compared to the beginning of March. With this price, local coffee growers can get a profit of VND 4 million –VND 6 million every hectare of coffee plantation after the production cost is deducted. At present, Dong Nai has nearly 17,0000 hectares of coffee-trees in bearing, most of which are old and very low-yielding at over 1.6 tonnes per ha. Dong Nai’s coffee output in the next crop year is forecasted to continue to decline as local farmers are trying to reduce production costs by cutting down input costs due to the low coffee price.
