The increase in the area under sugarcane in Dong Nai is due to high sugarcane price that was two times higher than the same period last year. With this price, farmers can get a profit of VND 12–16 million every hectare of sugarcane. Bien Hoa- Tri An Sugar Company and La Nga Sugar Joint Stock Company have inked purchasing contracts with local sugarcane farmers who will receive financial support from the two companies if they need investment capital. Vinh Cuu district has the largest sugar cane area in Dong Nai province.
