(ĐN)- Recently, the Cables and Telecommunication Materials Corporation (Sacom) has been awarded the title ‘Labour Hero in the renovation process’ by the State President for its outstanding performance in the past time. Established in February 1998 with an initial chartered capital of VND120 bil, the Sacom made its best efforts during the past ten years to become a prestigious name.

In 2000, Sacom was one of the first two companies to list shares on Vietnam Stock Exchange, with transaction name “SAM”.
In 2003, the company also received the Quality Certificate ISO 9001:2000 issued by AFAQ – ASCERT International of France.
In the third quarter of 2009, the company reported a turnover of approximately VND117 bil and an after-tax profit of more than VND54 bil. Its high-quality products won the trust of customers both at home and abroad.
Sacom has attempted to expand its business to other fields like real estate and tourist. It planned to develop the Sacom Resort on 267 hectares in the Tuyen Lam Lake Tourist Zone at a total cost of VND2.2 trillion. The resort will comprise a five-star hotel, a 58 ha resort, a luxury villa area, an entertainment area, and a golf course.
Last year, the company has raised its chartered capital from VND120 bil to VND654 bil.
With its achievements, Sacom has been awarded many noble titles, such as Labour Medals, Golden Cup of Vietnam Industrial Trademark, etc.
Over the past time, the company actively participated in social-charitable activities. Particularly, it cooperated with the HCMC Poor Patients Sponsor Association to give free eye surgeries to poor people, awarded scholarships to studious students, provided relief to typhoon victims, took care of five Vietnamese heroic mothers.
