Dong Nai’s economy is estimated to grow by 9.3 per cent this year. Especially, the province has implemented effectively the governments economic stimulus packages that helped businesses overcome difficulties caused by the global economic crisis and maintain production and business.
The province recorded a sharp increase in industrial production and investment attraction in IPs in the fourth quarter of this year.
Since the beginning of this year, the province has created jobs for more than 85,000 laborers and helped to lift 11,000 households out of poverty, reducing the number of poor households to 6.39 per cent (according to the new poverty standards).
However, the participants pointed out the province’s restrictions in socio-economic development this year, citing a decrease in import and export transactions and a delay in constructing projects as a result of the slow compensation and site clearance…
At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot urged local relevant agencies to identify and implement strategies to achieve set goals for 2010. Mot also asked the departments, agencies and localities’ authorities to create a favorable condition for local enterprises to develop their production and business activities that would enable Dong Nai’s economy to maintain high growth in 2010.
