(ĐN)- A celebration meeting marking the 18th anniversary of the founding of Xuan Loc district was held here on July 1. 18 years ago, Xuan Loc district ’s economy mainly depended on agricultural cultivation. Its economy has grown rapidly, with an average annual GDP growth rate around 18% over the past 18 years. Xuan Loc’s per capita GDP rose by 8 times against that in 1991.
Xuan Loc will strive to reach an annual GDP growth rate of 16-17 percent on average with per capita GDP on average reaching over VND 19 million per year and reduce the number of poor households under the new standards below 3% per year. In addition, the district will create jobs for more than 6000 people every year.
Before attending the ceremony, the delegates had laid wreaths at the district’s martyr cemetery and burned incense to commemorate heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Xuan Loc district. They were scheduled to visit an exhibition displaying images of Xuan Loc over the past 18 years.
