Dong Nai to serve as a counterbalance to eastern Ho Chi Minh city

The announcement meeting is held in Dong Nai on June 8

(ĐN)- Under  the regional construction plan of Ho Chi Minh city until 2020 with a vision towards 2050,  Dong Nai  will play its intended role as a counterbalance to eastern Ho Chi Minh city. Accordingly,  the regional construction project will include Ho Chi Minh city and its seven neighbouring provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Long An and Tien Giang. In which, Ho Chi Minh city will be a key player in the regions future while its neighbouring provinces will play a large role in boosting the city’s development. In particular, Dong Nai is set to become a high-tech hub in the region. This plan was announced on June 8 by the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee.  At the announcement meeting, participants raised matters such as increasing efforts in protecting the riverhead forests and water sources in the province as well as preventing increased pollution in river basins and restoring polluted rivers like Thi Vai river to their previous conditions.
