Boosting development of hi-technology agricultural production models

(ĐN)- According to Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, although facing many difficulties because of high input material prices and unfavorable weather conditions, Dong Nai province’s agriculture - forestry - fishery sector was estimated to reach production value of more than VND7 trillion in 2008

(ĐN)- Lately, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a ceremony to review its activities in 2008 and set tasks for 2009. Attending the ceremony was Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh.

According to Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, although facing many difficulties because of high input material prices and unfavorable weather conditions, Dong Nai province’s agriculture - forestry - fishery sector was estimated to reach production value of more than VND7 trillion in 2008, a year on year increase of nearly 6 percent. Besides, the department cooperated with localities to implement rural and agricultural development projects. In 2008, the sector developed 8 cooperatives, over 800 cooperation groups and high-productivity clubs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Ao Van Thinh said that the agricultural sector needs to make further efforts to boost the development of hi-technology agricultural production models in Dong Nai, upgrade its irrigation and processing equipment to help produce high-quality agricultural products, promote its support for cooperatives, cooperation groups and high-productivity clubs
