Farmers in the southern province of Dong Nai are facing big losses of durian and rambutan crops because of abnormal weather and pests.

More than 6,000ha of durian and 15,000ha of rambutans across the province have been damaged, resulting in low productivity.
In addition, wholesale prices of durian at the begining of this month were between VND2,000 and 4,000 (US$0.25) a kilo.
This is a 50 per cent drop on last year.
