(ĐN)- On Dec.19, a conference to discuss the implementation of the socio-economic tasks for 2007 and plans for 2008 was held with the participation of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot and nearly 80 leaders, officials from departments, agencies, and localities. Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh praised the efforts made by all levels and economic sectors to help the province reach the 2007 socio-economic targets. He also asked all levels, agencies and localities to make further efforts to achieve a GDP growth rate of 15.5 percent next year. Besides, the departments and agencies should continue to implement administrative reform programme aiming to attract more investors to the province in the coming time.
In 2008, Dong Nai will strive to achieve a gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate at 15.5 percent, the average GDP per capita is $1,277, reduce the poor household rate to 4.8 percent. State budget collection is estimated at VND10,776 billion in next year, total social development investment capital is about VND27,000 billion, representing 52.9 percent of the province’s GDP.
