Posco-Vietnam Steel Processing Centre started construction in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- In the morning of June 15, South Koreas Posco Co.Ltd, the worlds fourth largest steelmaker, started construction of a $13 million steel processing centre in Nhon Trach 5 Industrial Park.

(ĐN)- In the morning of June 15, South Koreas Posco Co.Ltd, the worlds fourth largest steelmaker, started construction of a $13 million steel processing centre in Nhon Trach 5 Industrial Park. Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ao Van Thinh and the South Korean Consul General in HCM City. The Posco-Vietnam Steel Processing Centre, covering an area of 6.8 ha, is expected to put into operation on June 2008 with a capacity of 100,000 ton per annum. The Nhon Trach 5 IP has so far attracted 15 investment projects, leasing 131 hectares to investors, or 62% of the IP’s total land for lease.

 

As known, Posco received approvals for cold rolling mill of a capacity of 3 million ton per annum and hot rolling mill of a capacity of 1.4 million ton per annum late last year. Accordingly, the company has leased an area of 130 ha in Phu My II Industrial Part to build the factories. Posco’s two factories worth a combined $1.2 billion will also start construction on October, 2007.
