The foreign-invested sector in the southern province of Dong Nai registered an industrial value of 18.85 trillion VND (1.17 billion USD) in the first seven months of this year, making up more than 70 percent of the total local value, the highest for six years.

The value, which previously made up from 60 to 64 percent of the total industrial value of the province, also saw a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.
High production value earners were wood furniture, up 54 percent; leather products, up 24 percent; food and drinks, up 20.4 percent; textiles, 18 percent; and chemicals, up 19 percent.
The electricity sector increased its production and distribution output by 4.5 times over the same period last year thanks to Formosa Company increasing its electricity out put.
