Dong Nai posts 24 percent export growth in January

The southern province of Dong Nai earned nearly 308 million USD from exports in January, up 24 percent over the same period last year.

 

Of the turnover, more than 90 percent was contributed by the foreign-invested sector.

 

The province shipped 5,600 tonnes of coffee (up 15 percent) and 750 tonnes of cashew nuts (up 37.6 percent). It also exported 750,000 USD worth of footwear and 1.75 million USD worth of wood furniture, year-on-year increases of over 100 percent and 43 percent, respectively.

 

During last month, Dong Nai imported 351 million USD worth of products, mainly equipment and materials for production, up 16 percent over the corresponding period of 2005
