(ĐN) - Trang Bom branch of the Vietnam Social Policy Bank is a State credit institution is in charge of lending with the preferential interest rates and conditions, operating not for profit but for hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Over the past 3 years, its efforts have contributed in great part to poverty eradication and creating stable jobs and incomes for 7,200 laborers in Trang Bom and Thong Nhat district since the branch was established.
In 2003, the branch’s loan turnover only reached 4.6 billion VND. This figure amounted to 22.4 billion VND in 2005, jumped 383% compared with 2003. Its debit balance raised up 41 billion VND in 2005 from 23.1 billion VND in 2003. The overdue debt rate decreased from 7.5 percent in 2003 to 5.5 percent in the end of 2005.
The Trang Bom branch Bank is further enhancing its operation and plays a more effective role in the cause of hunger eradication and poverty alleviation.
