Throughout its long history of national construction and defense, Dong Nai has maintained a significant geopolitical position, bearing witness to the resilience and heroism of generations of forefathers and their many glorious feats.

Continuing that heroic tradition, the armed forces of Dong Nai City today, particularly the younger generation, are striving to train and take the lead in all areas of work, affirming their role as "keepers of the flame" of knowledge and youthful vigor and writing the next chapters of the glorious epic in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

A powerful transition

When it comes to Dong Nai, one thinks of a land rich in revolutionary tradition, marked by shining milestones in the nation's protracted resistance wars. On this land, countless generations of heroes have fallen, sacrificing their youth to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Promoting that glorious tradition, in recent years, particularly since the administrative boundary merger and organizational restructuring, the armed forces of Dong Nai City have continuously strived to advance and excellently fulfill all assigned tasks.

According to Colonel Bui Van Sy, Member of the Military Party Committee’s Standing Board and Deputy Political Commissar of the Dong Nai City Military Command, since the merger and the implementation of new organizational models, the city's armed forces have quickly stabilized their organizational structure and promoted a spirit of solidarity, proactivity, and creativity. Comprehensive results have been achieved in all areas of work, from training, combat readiness, and regularization to mass mobilization and caring for the lives of the people, creating an increasingly solid all-people national defense posture and border defense posture.

These achievements and results are vividly reflected in the concrete outcomes of the "Determined to Win" emulation movement, the strict maintenance of combat readiness, and the effectiveness of models supporting ethnic minority and religious communities in the area. The armed forces of Dong Nai are not only a "steel shield" firmly protecting the Fatherland but also a solid and compassionate pillar for the local people.

Shortly after the merger, the city's armed forces were selected as a pilot unit to successfully carry out many tasks, including drills that met their objectives and requirements while ensuring absolute safety. They also successfully organized the City Military Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term and recently conducted a pilot defensive combat drill in Tan Tien Commune.

Continuing to write the nation’s glorious history

To uphold and promote this glorious tradition, the young generation of Dong Nai's armed forces regards it as a great source of spiritual motivation for self-improvement and training. The youth, enthusiasm, and daring spirit of the armed forces' young members are demonstrated through every practical model and task at the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Tien Phong, Assistant for Mass Work at the City Military Command, stated, "The emulation movements of the armed forces' youth always align with the unit's key political tasks. The youth of the armed forces are deeply aware of their responsibility to inherit and promote revolutionary traditions, striving to contribute and mature and to help build a comprehensively strong, “exemplary and typical” city armed force. Harnessing youthful energy and fostering a pioneering spirit and creativity, the officers, Youth Union members, and young people of the city's armed forces actively compete to achieve excellence in training, maintain strict discipline and high combat readiness, strengthen regularization and compliance with regulations, and improve the quality of Youth Union work."

In practice, the youth of the city's armed forces have been implementing many practical activities and models, including "Green March"; "Volunteer Saturday"; "Green Sunday"; "Youth and the Law"; "Youth Union chapter without officers and Youth Union members violating discipline"; "4 Good, 1 Strict" Youth Union chapter; "5 Good" youth; and the "3 Pioneers" movement. Through these activities, they contribute to spreading a spirit of responsibility and determination and promoting the positive image of the revolutionary soldier in the new era. These actions motivate the youth of Dong Nai's armed forces to continue promoting their glorious tradition, solidarity, and creativity; to successfully fulfill all tasks; and to contribute to building a comprehensively strong, "exemplary and typical" city armed force worthy of the trust of the Party, the State, and the People.

The youth of Dong Nai's armed forces today are deeply mindful of the sacrifices and contributions ofprevious generations, turning historical pride into practical revolutionary action. With enthusiasm, firm political mettle, and a spirit of initiative and volunteerism on all fronts, the youth of the city's armed forces are keeping the flame of tradition burning day and night and proving themselves worthy of being a reliable force for the Party Committee, the government, and the local people.

Captain Hoang Van Nguyen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Xuan Dinh Commune Military Command, shared, "The youth of the Xuan Dinh Commune armed forces are effectively promoting the more than 80-year tradition of building, fighting, winning, and maturing of the Dong Nai armed forces, along with the spirit of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). The Xuan Dinh Commune armed forces are always proactive in volunteering, tempering their political mettle, learning and working, engaging in digital transformation, participating in building new-style rural areas, maintaining security and order, and standing ready to perform local defense and military tasks in all situations. The commune militia force is maintained at 0.98% of the total population and always follows the motto of being “strong and widespread,” ready to be present in all areas to support the people."

The image of these young people in green military uniforms also shines on quiet fronts marked by hardship and sacrifice.

A conversation with Corporal Lam Cao, a member of Team K72, before his departure for a mission in Cambodia left an even stronger impression of the resilient will of today's young generation. With eyes full of determination, confidence, and emotion, Lam Cao said, "As young soldiers tasked with searching for, exhuming, and repatriating the remains of martyrs both at home and in neighboring Cambodia, we sometimes have to face countless difficulties and dangers in deep forests and remote streams. But every time we find a relic or the remains of a comrade, all fatigue vanishes. For us, bringing them back to the motherland is an order from the heart, the most practical way to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and continue to write the nation's glorious history."
