Dong Nai is currently focusing on the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign titled “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai” to create strong transformations across all sectors and contribute to the successful realization of the city's socioeconomic development goals.

As part of the broader movement, Dong Nai’s female intellectuals (FIs), with their knowledge, passion, and sense of responsibility, are actively promoting their role across various fields, proactively pursuing innovation, and contributing practical and effective approaches.

Creating a vibrant spirit of emulation

While each FI member is already performing her functions and duties well in her respective field and specific tasks, the Dong Nai City Intellectual Women’s Association has launched a special emulation drive to foster a vibrant spirit of emulation across all levels of the association and among individual members.

According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Chairwoman of the City Intellectual Women’s Association, through the special emulation drive, the association aims to awaken and promote the intellect, experience, and professional capacity of the FI community in such areas as scientific research, knowledge transfer, innovation, digital transformation, social consultation and policy review, environmental protection, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, and social welfare.

The association requires activities to closely follow the directives of the City Party Committee, the functions and duties of the City Intellectual Women’s Association, and the practical requirements of each chapter. Emulation activities must be specific, with clearly defined responsibilities, tasks, results, and efficiency, while quality, sustainability, and value delivered to the community serve as benchmarks for evaluation. In each chapter, members should take the initiative and be creative in selecting their emulation registration content, focusing on new models, effective approaches, and initiatives that can be applied, replicated, and spread throughout the community.

Chapters may register for emulation in building a united, innovative, and effectively operating association; promoting the intellect, expertise, and innovation of FIs; and accelerating digital transformation, the application of science and technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). Alternatively, chapters and members may focus on promoting the role of FIs for the community and the sustainable development of Dong Nai City, or building the image of Dong Nai FIs as resilient, responsible, humane, and globally integrated.

The Chairwoman of the City Intellectual Women’s Association noted that, for the emulation drive to be successful, chapters need to continue strengthening outreach efforts, building a high level of consensus in awareness and action, and promoting members' proactiveness and creativity. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen connections and mobilize social resources to carry out valuable projects and tasks. In particular, greater efforts are needed to boost the application of science and technology, promote innovation, and accelerate digital transformation in association activities, thereby creating an environment for FIs to effectively leverage their capacity and intellect and contribute more to local development.

Each chapter and member takes on a specific project or task

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan said the guiding principle of the City Intellectual Women’s Association for the special emulation drive is to place members at the center and chapters at the core of implementation; evaluate results based on initiatives, models, projects, and practical actions; avoid an emphasis on quantity or formality; prioritize substantive activities that deliver practical value to the community; and encourage the proactive and creative spirit of every official and member. It is encouraging that immediately after the association launched the drive, chapters registered emulation activities suited to their functions, duties, and strengths.

Given the city’s development needs, the City Intellectual Women’s Association must continue to strive even harder; the association’s activities must become more substantive and flexible and generate tangible outcomes and value for members and the community.

For example, the Intellectual Women’s Chapter of Lac Hong University will focus on activities related to scientific research and digital transformation. According to Le Thi Thu Huong, Head of the chapter at Lac Hong University, the chapter currently has 24 members who form a core group of highly qualified professionals and are actively involved in scientific research in addition to teaching. In recent years, many members have conducted research projects at various levels and published scientific articles in domestic and international journals, while also contributing to many initiatives and solutions that have been applied in practice. In the field of information technology, the university's female lecturers actively participate in activities to promote digital transformation, helping bring knowledge and technology closer to the community.

In response to the special emulation drive launched by the City Intellectual Women’s Association, the Intellectual Women’s Chapter of Lac Hong University will continue leveraging its strengths in scientific research and digital transformation. The chapter will encourage members to boost research, promote initiatives, and apply AI and new technologies in teaching and research. Depending on their work positions, each member will select suitable tasks. Through these efforts, they aim to translate the spirit of emulation into concrete products, projects, and initiatives that make practical contributions to the development of the university and the city.

With 60 members working in various fields in Trang Bom Ward and neighboring communes, the Trang Bom Ward Intellectual Women’s Chapter has long been noted for its community-oriented activities. Dao Thi Giang, Head of the chapter, said that during the first half of the term, the chapter had mobilized resources for the construction of two public bridges, sponsored orphans, and provided Tet support for the elderly, members, and women in difficult circumstances. During this special emulation drive, in addition to continuing to leverage its strengths, the chapter will boost activities to support women's entrepreneurship, promote members' creative spirit and capacity, contribute more to the community, and support the ward throughout its development process.
