Coordination urged to complete key projects around Long Thanh Airport ahead of schedule

On August 11, Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC), held a working session with the Standing Board of the Long Thanh Ward Party Committee to review the socio-economic development and national defense and security situation in the first seven months of 2026, key tasks and solutions for the remaining months of the year, and investment progress on key projects around Long Thanh International Airport. In the first seven months of 2026, the Standing Board of the Long Thanh Ward Party Committee focused on leading and directing the implementation of political, socio-economic, national defense, and security tasks, recording numerous positive results across various fields. Long Thanh Ward successfully fulfilled 20 of its 31 targets and tasks.

Regarding Party building, Long Thanh Ward has established a synchronized political system while upholding principles, discipline, and order. Personnel work, inspection, supervision, mass mobilization, and the monitoring of ideological developments have been carried out in a timely and effective manner.

As of the end of July 2026, total local budget revenue in Long Thanh Ward exceeded VND 1.6 trillion, reaching more than 172% of the estimate.

Long Thanh Ward continues to coordinate with the Department of Construction to review the Long Thanh Urban Master Plan for approval. At the same time, the ward is reviewing related plans, including construction plans for former communes, to make local adjustments for the implementation of projects aimed at promoting local socio-economic development, such as the drainage project outside the Long Thanh Airport fence, commercial and service projects, and others. The ward is also coordinating efforts to advance the implementation of zoning plans while simultaneously reviewing the Long Thanh Urban Area Master Plan.

In the coming period, Long Thanh Ward will continue to direct a comprehensive review of local planning in connection with the development orientation of the Long Thanh Airport urban area, the Nhon Trach area, and surrounding regions. The review will ensure synchronization, scientific consistency, and alignment with higher-level planning and development requirements in the new phase, thereby contributing to the effective exploitation of the locality's potential and advantages. At the same time, the ward will continue to tighten discipline and order and strictly and effectively implement Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU, dated May 1, 2026, of the CPC’s Executive Board on launching the special 500-day-and-night emulation campaign titled “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building a civilized and modern Dong Nai.”

Concluding the session, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Vo Tan Duc emphasized that Long Thanh Ward holds a special position in the development space of Dong Nai City and the southern key economic region. With its transport infrastructure system currently being developed in a synchronized and modern manner, the ward has significant strengths for a breakthrough in development in the coming period. Therefore, Long Thanh Ward must place strong emphasis on land, urban, and planning management. It must shift its mindset from rural management to the development of a modern urban area and airport city. Urgent proposals should be made to adjust infrastructure issues that are no longer suitable.

Regarding key projects and works around Long Thanh Airport, the Standing Board of the Long Thanh Ward Party Committee is focusing on leading and organizing efforts to resolve obstacles, clearly assigning responsibilities to each agency and unit for every project, and immediately addressing difficulties related to compensation and site clearance procedures. In this process, mass mobilization work must be carried out effectively. Meanwhile, communication and advocacy must be strengthened to build public consensus on compensation and resettlement support policies during project implementation.

Vo Tan Duc also requested that departments, agencies, and units coordinate to address local recommendations to promote development in the coming period.
