Construction starts on roads connecting to Long Thanh Airport

Following the groundbreaking ceremonies, contractors mobilized workers, machinery, and equipment to immediately begin the DT.770B Road Construction Project and the projects to upgrade and expand Roads DT.769 and DT.773.

At the same time, site clearance is continuing with the goal of handing over the entire site as soon as possible to facilitate project construction.

Ready for simultaneous construction

On July 10, 2026, Dong Nai City simultaneously held groundbreaking ceremonies for the DT.770B Road Construction Project and the projects to upgrade and expand Roads DT.769 and DT.773. These routes play a vital role in connecting localities within the city to Long Thanh International Airport, thereby completing the road network linking the city's interior, neighboring provinces, and the region to the airport.

The DT.773 Road Upgrade and Expansion Project spans approximately 39 km and passes through six communes and wards in Dong Nai City. The route connects localities in the southeastern area of Dong Nai City with Long Thanh Airport. Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, project contractors received the handed-over site, completed the necessary procedures, and cleared the land to begin construction and installation.

Doi Hung Cuong, Deputy General Director of Cuong Thuan IDICO Development Investment Corporation, a member of the consortium of contractors implementing the project, said the company has received the handover of approximately 8 km at the beginning of the route in Xuan Hoa Commune. After receiving the site, the contractor mobilized personnel and machinery to clear the ground and build the roadbed. "The corporation will continue to mobilize more machinery and personnel to begin simultaneous construction in the near future," said Doi Hung Cuong.

Meanwhile, at the DT.770B Road Construction Project, after receiving site handovers at several locations, members of the contractor consortium also began mobilizing machinery and equipment to build field camps and site offices and clear the ground.

According to Nguyen Huu Dat, Site Manager for contractor Dinh An Group Limited Liability Company, a member of the consortium of contractors implementing the project, the company is currently building a site office to manage the construction process. The contractor also hopes to receive additional land handovers soon to facilitate the transport of fill soil during construction.

Similarly, at the DT.769 Road Upgrade and Expansion Project, contractors are also clearing and handing over the site to proceed with construction and installation.

Accelerating construction progress

The aforementioned projects play a critical role in connecting localities with Long Thanh Airport, a key growth pole for Dong Nai City. Therefore, ensuring construction progress is an urgent requirement. To meet this requirement, one of the decisive factors is the site handover process.

According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, the DT.770B Road Construction Project covers more than 104 hectares of rubber plantation land, accounting for approximately 40% of the total land to be acquired.

According to the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, as of the end of July 2026, more than 131 hectares of land had been handed over for the DT.770B Road Construction Project, equivalent to approximately 49% of the total area. As for the DT.773 Road Upgrade and Expansion Project, nearly 70 hectares had been handed over, accounting for more than 31% of the total area. Meanwhile, more than 56 hectares had been handed over for the DT.769 Road Upgrade and Expansion Project, equivalent to more than 41% of the total area.

However, for the DT.770B Road Construction Project and the DT.773 Road Upgrade and Expansion Project, a portion of the rubber plantation land within the project areas has yet to be cleared, while the rubber trees have not yet been cut down for site handover. Local authorities have already issued land acquisition decisions for these rubber plantation areas, and the Dong Nai City Land Fund Development Center has completed compensation payments in accordance with regulations.

Previously, in late July 2026, at a meeting to review the progress of compensation and site clearance for transport projects in the city, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested departments, agencies and localities to demonstrate a proactive spirit and responsibility and strengthen coordination in compensation and site clearance to create favorable conditions for key transport projects to be implemented on schedule, contributing to completing the transport infrastructure system and promoting the socio-economic development of Dong Nai City in the coming years.
