Construction of Long Thanh Airport Project accelerated during weekends and holidays

According to the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board, the time remaining to complete Component Project 3 under Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport Project, as required by the Government, is limited, while requirements concerning progress, quality, and construction organization are extremely urgent.

To ensure the project's overall progress, the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board requires contractors to strictly maintain normal construction activities during holidays, weekends, and other periods in accordance with approved construction plans and schedules and the investor's requirements, without interrupting or affecting the project’s overall schedule. At the same time, contractors must proactively develop appropriate construction plans and arrange sufficient human resources, machinery, equipment, materials, and other necessary conditions to maintain continuous construction activities, particularly for items in the final push.

For nighttime, weekend, or holiday construction, contractors must proactively arrange sufficient human resources and necessary conditions. They must also strictly comply with all requirements concerning occupational safety, security, environmental sanitation, lighting, fire prevention and fighting, and other technical conditions as stipulated in the contract and relevant laws.

The Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board will intensify inspections and supervision of contractors' construction organization. If a contractor fails to comply, does not meet construction organization requirements, or adversely affects the project's overall progress, the Management Board will record the incident, prepare minutes, require the contractor to rectify the situation, or, if necessary, handle the matter in accordance with the provisions of the contract.

During the National Day holiday period from August 29 to September 2, 2026, the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board requires contractors to proactively prepare and submit construction plans for the holiday period. The plans must clearly specify construction items, execution times, the number of personnel, mobilized machinery and equipment, and measures to ensure occupational safety, security, order, and environmental sanitation at the construction site. Contractors must clearly identify priority items and tasks to meet technical operation requirements in September 2026. At the same time, they must review and adjust construction methods to suit the actual situation and the project's overall progress. They must strengthen coordination among consortium members, optimize construction organization, and prioritize the preparation of areas scheduled for the installation of equipment, particularly specialized equipment, to ensure that the site and necessary conditions are ready for installation and operation work in accordance with the plan. Contractors must also prepare and attach a list of personnel on duty at the construction site during the holiday period.

Supervision consultancy units must coordinate with construction contractors to review construction plans covering the entire holiday period. At the same time, they must proactively arrange personnel for duty and on-site supervision in accordance with contractors' construction plans, ensuring the timely management, supervision, and handling of issues that arise.
